Nomad by Christopher O’Hare - Winner Squad Goals 2022 - Champion Category
The Kill Team Open would like to invite players and hobbyists to display their work in the second annual Squad Goals Painting Competition. This is a juried Kill Team painting competition. The Squad Goals Painting Competition will use a 3-judge panel that will award Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards within three (3) categories. The following information applies to all Kill Team Open: Squad Goals artists and entries: for the 2023 Squad Goals Painting Competition all entries will be combined into one painting division.
CATEGORIES
CHAMPION CATEGORY
Every team needs a Champion! This category is for a Single 28mm scale model from the current or previous edition of Kill Team. All models must be legal models in the current or previous edition of Kill Team. Single figures should be on a display base and may include ancillary models necessary to the setting of a scene. Each entrant may not submit more than a single entry into this category.
FIRETEAM CATEGORY
Never go into battle without your Fireteam! A single squad of Five (5) models from the current or previous edition of Kill Team. All models must be legal models in the current or previous edition of Kill Team, but cannot exceed 5 models total. It does not have to represent a legal “Fireteam” as defined in the Kill Team Core Rulebook, however all models must share a single Kill Team Keyword. Choose your best Five models displayed as a cohesive unit. Entries for this category should be submitted on a single base or stand to reduce model handling and to indicate they are part of a single submission. Each entrant may not submit more than a single entry into this category.
DIORAMA CATEGORY
Set the scene! This category is for a single creative diorama piece. Subjects of the diorama must be legal models from the current or previous edition of Kill Team. Vehicles are excluded from judging in this category, but may be used as basing material as part of the scenery to tell a story. Entries for this category should be submitted on a single base or stand to reduce model handling and to indicate they are part of a single submission. Entries cannot exceed 10” x 10” x 10”. Each entrant may not submit more than a single entry into this category.
ADDITIONAL AWARDS
FAN FAVORITE
Attendees with a Tournament Ticket or General Admission are encouraged to cast a ballot for their favorite model from either category. Each attendee gets one voting ballot with their pass. Votes can be cast at any time until voting closes at 12:00PM EST on Sunday February 19th, 2023. The Kill Team Open staff recommends that convention attendees make multiple passes by the Squad Goals display cases throughout the convention prior to casting their vote, which will allow them to make a more informed and balanced decision as to their favorite, and allow them to see the widest selection of submissions possible.
SPONSORED AWARDS
Sponsors and Vendors may additionally choose to sponsor a specific award at the competition. They can name it and judge it themselves if they like. Awards sponsored in this way will be listed below. Sponsors of the award will set the requirements of the award and the prize support for the winner. Kill Team Open reserves the right to deny any award that doesn’t meet our standards.
